Hi, my name is Aaron Durogati. My discipline is paragliding cross country. I was born on 6 June 1985 in Merano, Italy.

Bio

Aaron Durogati is a professional athlete who loves all mountain sports. Aaron first took up paragliding at the tender age of six, in tandem with his father. At 15, he started going solo. Since then, he’s been training hard with the aim of making it onto the list of the world’s top paragliding pilots.

This dream came true in 2012, when Aaron took home his first World Cup, yet his dedication spurred him on even further and to buckle down to the tough training required for the Red Bull X-Alps, a unique cross country endurance competition that combines paragliding and running. In the 2013 edition he finished seventh out of a field of 32.

As well as being one of the world’s top paragliding pilots, Aaron is also a teacher and a ski instructor, and he practices mountaineering and freeriding on slopes of any inclination. To combine his two great loves, flying and skiing, he has moved in the direction of speed riding, a discipline in which the athlete, equipped with skis and a sail smaller than the one traditionally used for paragliding, can take a jump and glide at high speed, flying over those slopes that are too vertical to be tackled on skis.

In 2014, Aaron took speed riding to new heights with the Red Bull Peaks Trilogy project, in which he completed an undertaking never before attempted (see career highlights).
