This year’s World Superbike season will feature a brand new squad in the form of the Red Bull Honda World Superbike team, with Nicky Hayden and Stefan Bradl set to partner up to ride the team’s Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2s.
The combination should be a potent one. Hayden beat Valentino Rossi to the MotoGP crown in 2006, while Bradl pipped no less a rider than Marc Márquez to the 2011 Moto2 title. The German rider makes his Superbike World Championship debut this year, while Hayden moves into his second season in the series, after taking a win and four podiums in his rookie campaign last year.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season,” said Bradl at the launch of the team at Red Bull’s Hangar-7 complex in Salzburg, Austria. “It’s a whole new experience for me, and a new championship where I’ve never raced before.
“We have a new Fireblade for the season, so it will take a little bit of time to dial it in, but we’ll do our best to take it to the top as soon as possible.”
