World-class athletes compete against newcomers, international veterans take on Swiss talents – and all want to win the crown at the 20th anniversary of freestyle.ch on September 27 and 28. And all party animals can enjoy the official Afterburner Party on Sunday in the Härterei Club in Zurich.
Top athletes from all over the world of snowboarding, freeski big air, FMX and MTB Dirt Jump will come to Landiwiese in Zurich to claim the title at the anniversary event – and of course to celebrate the history of the freestyle event.
Swiss riders hot for the podium
Halfpipe star Iouri Podladtchikov will take on competitors at the Style Session on Saturday. On Sunday, his snowboarding colleagues Hitch Haller, Lucien Koch and heart-throb Jan Scherrer will fight for victory. Kai Mahler from Fischenthal finished second in 2012 and 2013, but this year he is on a mission to win the freeski title. Crowd favourite Elias Ambühl is fired up as usual and will do his best to impress with dynamic jumps. The youngest contestant is Zurich rider Luca Schuler, a 16-year-old from Ebertswil.

International top competitors
In 2013, no Swiss rider made it onto the snowboarding podium. Antoine Truchon who arrives from Canada with his fellow countryman Seb Toutant (winner at X Games Tignes 2013) will do his best to defend his title. The Icelander Halldor Helgason – who once scarfed down 2kg of meatballs – is also one of the top contenders for the title. The youngest competitor in snowboarding is 15-year-old Norwegian Marcus Kleveland. Freeskier Gus Kenworthy (third place at freestyle.ch 2013) from the US, Markus Eder from Italy and the Nordic guys Jesper Tjäder (SWE) and Øystein Bråten (NOR) are out to thwart Mahler’s plans.
And what would the FMX Dirt Jump contest be without Mat Rebeaud? In 2013, he won the Crossover session on Saturday and the FMX finals on Sunday. And he is ready to defend his two titles.

Martin Söderström Invitational was rad, and we got the video to prove it!

"I was very happy to win the Crossover session after so many years. I’m sure the conditions will be perfect for the 20th edition," said Rebeaud.
This year Rebeaud’s FMX competitors are Clinton Moore from Australia, Czech rider Petr Pilat (third place at freestyle.ch 2013) and Red Bull X-Fighter Maikel Melero (ESP). FMX veteran Daisuke Suzuki (33) from Japan will also compete at this year’s event.
In mountain biking Germany's Amir Kabbani will compete against Xavier Pasamonte (ESP), Szymon Godziek (CZE) and Tomas Zejda (POL), who will all give it their all to blow the crowd away. However, all of the competitors will chase one rider: Anton Thelander. The Swede comes to Zurich with the win at the legendary Martin Söderström Invitational under his belt (and quite some testosterone in his blood):
Prior to freestyle.ch there will be six scouting sessions in skate parks all over Switzerland as well as online scouting at www.freestyle.ch/talent. The best participants qualify for the final at the Swissmilk Skate Plaza and can show off their moves on September 27, 2014, at the Landiwiese.
