The Red Bull Factory Racing team are upbeat about their chances for the 2010 FIM Motocross World Championship racing season after launching their new KTM 350 SX-F bike.
Last year Antonio Cairoli took the MX1 world title while Marvin Musquin won the MX2 equivalent. And both riders will be looking to repeat their feats during the forthcoming campaign.
Team-mate Max Nagl will be hoping to be a serious threat to Cairoli while Rui Goncalves has made the step up from MX2, the class in which Musquin is sure to face a challenge from Shaun Simpson and 15-year old Jeffrey Herlings.
KTM's off-road sport director Pit Beirer said: "We are confident that we can be a force to be reckoned with in both MX1 and MX2 this season."
The KTM 350 SX-F, which was revealed to the world’s media in Milan at the end of last year, was developed by the team’s director, 10-times MX world champion Stefan Everts.
Everts believes his ‘baby’ is set to revolutionise motocross, telling reporters: "The 350 SX-F launches a new era for MX racing. It's also a reflection of the company's commitment to racing and to producing the best off-road machines for anyone who shares the same passion as we do."
KTM chief executive Stefan Pierer believes that the new racing machine is a true symbol of the company’s ‘ready to race’ philosophy.
He stated: "Our factory riders are proven talent and we as a company recognise that the real race is not just on the track but also off it.
"That is why we strive to produce cutting edge technology and to have it reflected in products like the new KTM 350 SX-F."
