Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing had a night to remember on Saturday as the German's pole position smashed another F1 record which set him up perfectly for Sunday's race...

Marhaba from Abu Dhabi!

What a nice start to our desert weekend! After needing a bit more time to really get into the race we are all extremely happy that everything turned out the way it did. I have to confess that I didn't really feel that comfortable in the last training session, but luckily that changed as we started to get into the qualifying. The car was much smoother and once the sun had set a little, I really felt great.

Getting the pole here in Abu Dhabi is of course something special – not only because of all the happy memories, but obviously also because of the big love we have for their track. The entire team enjoys coming back here and experience the "Arabian Nights" for a few days. And that's an important point – the team. The guys and girls once again did an amazing job and I'm really happy that I could repay them a little for their hard work.

It sure was a nice success that we were able to break Nigel Mansell's pole position record, but it was nothing we were chasing. All we wanted was to be on top by the end of the day and we did it. The record is a nice plus for us and we're all very proud and happy with it.

It will of course be a tough race, but we're really positive about it. We know where we want to be and we'll do anything in our power to reach this goal.

Talk to you later!

Seb

PS: As many of you might know, there is a really special guest in Abu Dhabi at this race... none other than the legendary Paul McCartney. I missed him after qualifying but I hope to catch him today for a picture. Hopefully I'll get it despite the fact that he would like to see a British driver win! That's obviously a favour I can't do him, but maybe I'll get a picture anyway! Keep your fingers crossed for me...
