Toro Rosso

Bit better in Barcelona

This morning’s final hour of free practice for tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix was a positive one for Scuderia Toro Rosso, as hard work overnight seems to have produced a slight improvement in performance from the STR7.

As usual, the mantra that the results of free practice should not be seen as too accurate a reflection of the true state of play holds good. However, with Jean-Eric seventh fastest and Daniel thirteenth, it looks as though the engineers have moved the car on from where it was on Friday. However, injecting a further note of caution, the FP3 time sheet reveals that not many of the usual front runners feature in the top six: Sebastian Vettel was quickest for Red Bull, followed by Pastor Maldonaldo in the Williams and Kamui Kobayashi in the Sauber. Mark Webber is fourth in the second Red Bull, then comes Sergio Perez in the other Sauber with Fernando Alonso sixth for Ferrari.
