The Boston event marked the second U.S. Red Bull Soundclash appearance. The event has been an international success, with multiple performances in the following locations: Japan; Russia; Hungary, the Netherlands and Los Angles.. Subsequent events are planned nationally in Seattle and internationally in Belgium, Poland and New Zealand.
We knew it was going to be a good night when we walked outside and people on line were scalping tickets for $100 for the SOLD OUT show.
The Roxy was packed tight with nearly 1200 enthusiastic fans awaiting the clash of sounds between The Roots (renown hip-hop band) and Antibalas (Afrobeat). Regardless of the crowds preference for one band or the other, by the end of the night they could all agree that they had witnessed something unlike anything they had ever seen or heard before.
Marking the 3rd Red Bull Soundclash in the US, it proved to be an epic night of musical collaboration with both bands. It was such a unique format, both the Roots and Antibalas commented saying they want to tour this way. You cant ask for much more than that.
