Hot on the heels of the German Grand Prix in Teutschenthal, the Motocross World Championship heads to Kegums for the Grand Prix of Latvia, with both Tony Cairoli and Marvin Musquin looking to strengthen their position at the top of the pack.

Cairoli arrives in Latvia with a formidable 65-point advantage over second-placed Clement Desalle. The Italian will want to get back to winning ways this weekend having missed out on the podium in Germany, finishing fourth overall.

'I enjoyed Latvia a lot last year and had two strong motos so I am looking forward to going back' – Ken Roczen

And he can take heart from the fact that he won in Latvia last year – just ahead of Desalle. Team-mate Max Nagl has slipped off the pace slightly recently, however, he will be ready to challenge Cairoli and Desalle having shaken off a collarbone injury.

Another rider looking to impress in Kegums is Tanel Leok. The Estonian is hoping the proximity of the race to his homeland will encourage his fans to cross the border and make this a home grand prix.

The undisputed star of the MX2 class this season has been Frenchman Musquin. The KTM rider has won seven of the eight motos so far this season on his way to a 77-point lead over Ken Roczen in the overall standings.

However, Roczen was back to winning ways in Germany, picking up only his second heat win of the season. And the German is eyeing Musquin as he looks to end the season on a high, starting in Latvia on one of his favourite tracks.

“Latvia is a pretty crazy track," he said. "It will get really rough but I enjoyed it a lot last year and had two strong motos so I am looking forward to going back."

One rider hoping to follow Roczen back to form is Jeffrey Herlings. The young Dutchman hasn’t finished on the podium since Portugal back in May, and has subsequently slipped to fourth in the championship.

You can watch the action from Latvia live with Red Bull Web TV from 16:20 (CET) and 15:30 (CET) on Sunday.
