DJ Dippy was the man of the night on the 10th June at Canvas, Mumbai as he brought the house down at the Red Bull Thre3Style India Final. The Kolkata native played a mash up of Rock, Techno, Bollywood and Hip Hop, throwing in stage antics and showmanship to capture the both the crowd and judge's attention.
He now has India’s approval as the countries top ‘Party Starter’ and will be the representative at the International finals in Canada later this year. Taking on some of India's best, he managed to spin and dazzle the audience with over 3 different genres of music within the set limit of 15 minutes. Most importantly he had the ability to captivate the crowd and keep the party going, which for the judges was pretty much the biggest draw-card. The participating DJ’s were also judged on their track-selection, technical skills, creativity and most importantly their ability to turn the party out.
Judging India's party starters were Channel V VJ Juhi, DJ Nasha, Mukul Deora and the legendary DJ Qbert, who in himself is one of world's most revered battle-DJs and turntablists, having won three DMC world titles back to back! In fact rumour has it that it was requested that he stop competing professionally to give other up and coming DJs a chance. To flex his muscle and show Mumbai why he is one of the best DJs to judge a competition like Red Bull Thre3Style, he took to the DJ desk and entertained the crowd with his signature scratch-infused eclectic set that kept everybody at Canvas hollering for more.
We look forward to DJ Dippy's International Final set and how he plans to bring the sound of India's dancefloor to the Canadian crowd.
