Dani Pedrosa Mugello GEPA PIctures/Gold & Goose

MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa analyses his return to racing after finishing eighth at the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello last weekend...

Hola a todos,

It finally arrived the weekend I had waited a month and a half for! The grand prix at Mugello went well. It’s always difficult to get back racing after being a month and a half out and because of that you have to view the eight points that I picked up as positive. Now it’s time to progress and we have to be optimistic.

I knew that Mugello would be a very physically demanding circuit and I would have to pace myself in order to compete. That’s what I did during the weekend. On Friday, on the first time on the bike, I felt a little comfortable but I was in a position to contest the race. I had a problem at the start that meant I wasn’t able to keep up with the leading group, although I believe that my rhythm was good and I finished by recovering some positions.

The feelings I have after returning to competition are optimistic ones. I have to take advantage of the days that we have before the next GP to concentrate on recovering my physical strength because the lack of pace is a handicap I have to overcome.

On Monday we stayed at the circuit and with the team we carried out a few tests which I took advantage of to try and get the rhythm back on the track. It’s important to do as many kilometres as possible to return to peak condition and be able to finish races well. It’s been great to come back and see all the team again. They have helped me a lot in my return to competition.

Thanks also to you for always supporting me. I know that these last few weeks have been difficult. The important thing is that we’re back and with hopes of competing once again at the front.

Un saludo

Dani
