Gassner Jordan Rally GEPA Pictures

If you could invite anybody at all to your dinner party, who would you pick? We asked Super 2000 World Rally Championship driver Hermann Gassner Jr.

The 22-year-old from Germany has been handed a huge opportunity to realise his potential in 2011 after securing a seat with Raimund Baumschlager’s Red Bull Skoda operation. A seasoned Group N driver, his switch to a Super 2000 Skoda is a major step, but one that he is determined to make the most of.

If, in his busy SWRC schedule, Gassner Jr managed to squeeze in a fancy dinner, who would he wish was there?

I’ve put a spell on you

When we asked Hermann who he’d invite to dinner, without hesitation he answered “Emma Watson”, star of the world-famous Harry Potter films. He explains: “I really like the Harry Potter films and she’s fantastic. She’s really beautiful too. She’s grown-up in front of us and is a great actress that has played a big part in the life of a generation of people. I’d definitely sit next to her!”

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?!

Hermann’s second choice would be American rapper and musician, Eminem. “I’m a big fan of his music,” he explains. “I’d like to ask him how it is possible to free-style rap just from the heart. I love to listen to the Marshall Mathers song mainly, but am really impressed with all of his music. It’s great to turn it up loud and, as Eminem says, “lose yourself in the music’!”

Rally good guest

Finally, Gassner Jr would like to invite his rally hero, Sebastien Loeb. Loeb has won the WRC a record-breaking seven times and continues to impress year on year. “Loeb is a hero of mine. I look up to him and would love to share dinner with him,” explains Hermann. “If I could sit down with him he might be able to teach me how to be a WRC-winning driver. I think it would be really interesting to talk to him about his success and how he has achieved it.”
