After two days of mixed weather training here in Norway, the 13 competing cliff divers have all but finalised their strategy for Saturday's competition.
For one man in particular, final training seemed to hold extra significance.
2009 World Series Champion Orlando Duque has had to take a backseat this year to Gary Hunt but the Colombian was clearly in a determined mood as he completed no less than six practice dives on Friday afternoon.
After a pleasant day of training on Thursday, an altogether more unpleasant combination of grey skies and a biting wind made Friday's practice more of a quick dip – but not for a determined Duque.
"Today was hard – it was so cold and windy," he said afterwards. "We postponed training for an hour and a half waiting to see if the weather got better but it didn't really.
"I do more training when the weather is bad just in case tomorrow it’s the same and so you’re a little bit more prepared."
Norway could be a defining stage in the six-stop series, as Duque can ill afford Hunt extending his 11-point lead at the top of the championship.
The forecast is for more overcast weather but that will not perturb Duque. If you fail to prepare then you prepare to fail and Duque has no intention of failing.
The divers draw lots on Friday night to decide the diving order for Saturday's competition, along with the dives they are due to perform.
