The world’s most famous base jumper Felix Baumgartner has been to the Red Bull KTM Factory Team HQ in Mattighofen, Austria to pick up an early Christmas present.

The 40-year-old master jumper from Salzburg arrived by helicopter to collect his new 990 Super Duke R. He was greeted by KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer.

The bike, with its orange frame, powerful forms and extreme dynamics, is sure to give Baumgartner plenty of food for thought for his future exploits.

His catalogue of jumps, death-defying deeds and landing adventures to date could easily fill several volumes of books.

The Austrian was the first person to cross the entire English Channel in freefall. He also jumped from the statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and leapt off the Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taiwan.

While many people can claim to live life to the full, only Baumgartner can soar like a bird and then land firmly on his own two feet.
