Edi Federer, former ski jumper and loyal manager to Andi Goldberger, Thomas Morgenstern and Adam Malysz, has passed away.
Fifty-seven-year-old Edi Federer (pictured above on the left with a Red Bull Mobile girl and Thomas Morgenstern) died on Wednesday after a two-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Edi was a long-time friend of Red Bull and a successful athlete in his youth, taking silver at the Four Hill Tournament 1974/75. He was also the long-term manager of ski jumpers Andi Goldberger, Thomas Morgenstern and Adam Malysz. Edi's patience, wisdom and father-like care – as displayed during Andi Goldberger's ups and downs – will be sorely missed by his protégés.
Our condolences go out to his family.
