British F3 champion Jean-Eric Vergne talks us through a few of his favourite things – discover where he likes to race, how he likes to unwind and what makes an ideal holiday, among other things.
Of course we could tell you quite a lot about Jean-Eric ourselves. We could tell you that he’s from Pontoise, France, which lies north of Paris and was the capital of the Impressionist movement. We could also tell you that he now resides in Milton Keynes, UK and has recently made the step up to Formula Renault 3.5. But we think you deserve more than that, so here are a few of Jean-Eric’s favourite things...
Favourite racing circuit
Spa. It’s just a great racing circuit with all kinds of corners and it has a lot of history as well. There isn’t really a corner I don’t like on the circuit.
'I don’t know, most sports I enjoy have an engine!'
Favourite sport (other than motor racing)
Karting [laughs]. Let me think... this is quite hard, probably sailing. I don’t know, most sports I enjoy have an engine!
Favourite film
I have so many favourite films, I really like watching movies. The movies that I really enjoyed watching recently were the three Bourne films. I really like those movies. I spend most of my time watching movies so I don’t always remember the names but these are ones I remember.
Favourite TV show
I don’t really watch TV. The last one I watched was in England, in my apartment, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, but I don’t really watch it. I don’t really like watching series as I’m not often in the same country so they can be difficult to follow.
Favourite type of music
House music. There are so many DJs that I like but let’s say a French one, David Guetta.
'Somewhere hot with a nice beach and with good friends, that’s the best'
Favourite food
Italian.
Favourite holiday destination
As long as it’s somewhere hot with a nice beach and with good friends, that’s the best.
Favourite celebrity
Erm... [thinks] I don’t know really, I never had a hero growing up so I don’t really have any favourite celebrities.
