Swedish legend Jasper Felder is counting the cost of the Red Bull Crashed Ice final in Quebec City after he hit a wall and got two cracked ribs.

"I don’t know how it happened," said 40-year-old Felder. Almost two weeks after the final of Red Bull Crashed Ice, he is still waiting for his ribs to heal.

Felder is one of the athletes who has participated in every event since the opener in 2000 and is the only skater with six back-to-back wins, but at the first stop in Munich this year he was forced to withdraw after falling heavily in training and injuring his back.

He went to Canada with victory as his aim though. "I felt so good and I also had good speed," he remembers.

But then he hit the wall at a dangerous corner, where a lot of other athletes also had trouble. "It bumped me out. I was surprised. You are going so fast that you cannot protect yourself."

It means no sport for two weeks. “I am spending my time with my children and also at school."

It's no reason to give up though. "Of course I will be competing next year!"

Does he have any preference for next year's host country? "I would love to have Red Bull Crashed Ice in the indoor facility in Dubai. That would be awesome to walk around in a tanktop and to skate down in the hall."

The locations for next year are not yet set. Discuss on our Facebook Fanpage where you think it should take place. We will keep you posted.
