Festival season will be on us in now time, and those tickets are around about as long as spring flowers. We take a look at who's playing where this summer.
Primavera Sound in Barcelona has just been announced, with the headliners as Pet Shop Boys (pictured), Pixies and Orbital. Described as more of a party than a festival, other acts lined up for the three-day event include Pavement, The XX, The Fall and Grizzly Bear. It’s all taking place across Barcelona on the weekend of May 29-31, and offers one of the largest auditoriums in Europe.
More acts have been announced for Bestival, with The XX and a special exclusive show from Fever Ray being added this week. They join the headliners LCD Soundsystem, Dizzee Rascal and Flaming Lips at the Robin Hill Countryside Adventure Park near Newport, Isle of Wight, in September.
Kings of Leon have announced details of their biggest UK show to date. The Molly's Chambers hitmakers will play London's Hyde Park on June 30. It will be the first time the band will have played in the UK since their headlining turn at last year’s Reading/ Leeds festivals. The band are currently working on their fifth album, following up their 6.2million selling Only By The Night.
The ninth annual Sasquatch Festival in Washington was announced this week too, with Vampire Weekend, MGMT, My Morning Jacket, Kid Cudi, Massive Attack, LCD Soundsystem and Pavement (again) The fun starts on May 29.
