Repsol Honda riders Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso expressed satisfaction at the end of the first two-day MotoGP test of 2010 at Sepang, Malaysia.
Pedrosa improved on his day one best time and eighth on the timesheets to finish fourth-fastest overall, with 2m 1.822s his best showing on the fledgling 2010 works Honda RC212V.
“We got through a lot more testing today, and I can say that we improved significantly – and that’s important in terms of finding a good direction to follow,” said Pedrosa. “At the end of the day, I could feel the improvements, and so I’m happy about that… I’m going home satisfied.”
The Spaniard used his 50 laps at Sepang to sample the feeling of the new Ohlins suspension set-up – and also his still-healing damaged wrist.

“Today, it was much better,” commented Pedrosa, who admitted that it had taken him time on the previous day to reacclimatise to a MotoGP machine, “though I’m not at 100 per cent yet. To have the second test here in just two weeks' time is really good for us.”
Dovizioso, who ended up sixth with a best time of 2m 2.272s from his own 52 laps, also had reason to be positive, feeling that the new electronics on the RC212V had improved the overall package from last year – but the Italian was in no doubt about other challenges ahead at the next test in a fortnight’s time.
“I leave Sepang feeling positive, and I’m confident about the next test because we have clear ideas about the direction we have to follow… but there is still a job to do,” said Dovizioso. “I think the next Sepang test will be more indicative about our true pace.”
