The freshest B-Boy to book a place in this year’s BC One Grand Final is Klesio after he wiped the dancefloor with the competition at the Latin American qualifier.
The 16 best up and coming B-boys in Latin America came to Monterrey in Mexico on the weekend hoping their BC One dream would continue through to the final stage of the competition.
There could only be one winner and in the end the judging panel of B-Boy Lil G, B-Boy Moy and B-Boy Nasty Ray gave the unanimous decision to hand the ticket to the final to B-Boy Klesio.
The 22-year-old Brazilian champion from the New Old School crew just had too many moves in his locker for local lad B-Boy Gato in the final contest of the night. B-Boy Klesio believes it was his nerves of steel that gave him the edge on the night.
“I think the judges looked at how calm I was in the final. Plus I showed all my energy and also the joy that my dancing gives me and the crowd. All this was backed up by the moves I pulled out on the floor and that was the key to winning. I was so happy just to reach the final but to win the whole thing is even better.”
B-Boy Klesio will now take his place in the BC One Grand Final and will have plenty of home support in Rio de Janeiro. Beaten finalist B-Boy Gato admitted that his tough semi-final win against B-Boy Luan was not the ideal preparation for the showdown with Klesio.
“All of the battles were difficult but I gave my best right up until the end. My semi-final was such an intense contest and I will never forget it. I came here to show people what I can do and I’m glad that I have achieved that aim.”
While B-Boy Gato stays home in Mexico it will be B-Boy Klesio who takes a place in the Red Bull BC One Grand Final in Rio de Janeiro on December 8th
