Innovative DJ Battle Shook the Floor with The Rub for Brooklyn Party-Goers

Over 450 Brooklyn party-goers and legendary DJ Collective, The Rub, brought their game faces to their regular party stomping ground, Southpaw, to see Red Bull Thre3style shake up the Brooklyn nightlife scene. In this ultimate battle scenario, eight local DJ’s took turns stepping up to the tables and throwing down the finest party beats. Competition was fierce as the DJ’s were spinning and the dance floor continued to rock. DJ mOma, wowed the judges and won the crowd over. Local DJ’s Sam French came in second and JayCeeOh third.

“Red Bull Thre3style is a really great event because it rewards what we do,” said winner DJ mOma. “Make the party jump.”

Competing DJ’s included Harlem native DJ Boogie Blind, worldwide phenom DJ Terry Urban, Philly homeboy DJ Sammy Slice, no longer NYC’s best-kept secret DJ mOma, mixtape diva DJ Chela, turntable master DJ JayCeeOh and Producer/DJ Vin-Sol and Fox’s Good Day NY regular DJ Sam French.

Hip-hop legend Greg Nice, of duo Nice & Smooth, hosted the night’s festivities while DJ Eleven and The Rub brought down the house 'til the wee hours.

Red Bull Thre3Style is an innovative event format where the true art of party rockin’ is put to the test. Each DJ is tasked with spinning three completely different musical genres, all while keeping the party hot and the dance floor packed.

Red Bull Thre3style is an international event series designed to determine the world's greatest party rockin' DJ. Fourteen regional battles are being staged across the country with the winners receiving a trip to Denver to compete in the National Finals on October 7. In addition to Brooklyn, other cities participating include: Pittsburgh, Dallas, Austin, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Denver, Orlando, Phoenix, Miami, Houston, Las Vegas, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The winner from the U.S. National Finals will advance to compete in the Global Finals in Paris, France, where they will compete against the winners from twelve countries: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Ecuador, France, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
