Alpine skiing World Cup overall champion 2007/08 Lindsey Vonn has been nominated for the 2008 ESPY Award in the category for Best Female Athlete, which is another sensational career highlight. It is an exception to the rule that an American skier is nominated.
With five downhill wins, Lindsey Vonn became only the second American, male or female, to win the World Cup downhill title. She also landed podium finishes in super combined and super G to clinch the World Cup overall title.
