Mark Webber and Christian Horner have signed their first new driver to the MW Arden GP3 team: Michael Christensen from Denmark.
The 19-year-old steps up to GP3 having achieved multiple race wins, pole positions and podiums in the Formula BMW Europe Championship whilst also finishing runner-up in the 2008 Formula BMW World Final in his rookie year.
The talented Dane was also European Karting Champion in 2005 and runner-up in the World Karting Champion in 2006.
"I am delighted to be joining the MW Arden team. It’s a great opportunity to work closely with Mark Webber which will only benefit my career development,” said Christensen. “The Arden team have a winning history in every championship they have competed in and having met the people involved, I am convinced it is the right team for me to be in for 2010. I would like to thank Mark Webber and Christian Horner for giving me this opportunity.”
"We are delighted to have secured the services of Michael Christensen in MW Arden's driver line-up for the debut season of GP3,” said team manager Julian Rouse. “Following the success of GP2 and with Michael's proven track record we are convinced he should be a title contender in 2010."
Arden start their GP3 campaign at the opening two rounds at the Spanish Grand Prix in May.
