Lindsey Vonn, Shaun White, Aksel Lund Svindal and the rest of our stars are returning from their Canadian gold rush, so here's a few reasons why we've missed them...

Determination:
Bad skis and a shattered ski pole twice robbed cross-country skier Petter Northug of victory. He fought back to win two golds and a bronze.
Courage:
At the Winter X-Games in February, one of the USA’s most accomplished skiers, Daron Rahlves, dislocated his hip for the fourth time in his career. His chances of reaching the ski cross event at Vancouver looked slim but somehow he recovered and was strong enough to reach the start line. But the fairytale finish wasn't to be and, agonisingly, he tangled with another skier and tumbled out in the 1/8 final. “I think [this experience] was awesome, unfortunately I just didn't do it,” Rahlves said.
Innovation:
Now you know; if you want a Double McTwist 1260, don’t go to a burger restaurant, go to Shaun White.
Peak performance:
At 32, Adam Malysz found his best form when it counted to bring home two silvers. One of the most modest men in sport ended up having breakfast with Polish President Lech Kaczynski. Over oscypki cheese and kalach bread, the president and the national hero discussed the country’s hosting the European Football Championship.
Fashion sense:
Shaun White and his torn jeans and plaid jacket, Lindsey Vonn and her modelling shoots and Aksel Lund Svindal and his... erm… tie-dyed trousers. “You've got to check those out. I even have a vest to go with them!” Did we mention sense of humour?
Team spirit:
Gregor Schlierenzauer set a new competition record with his final jump as he brought home team gold for Austria with Thomas Morgenstern.
