NHL star Alex Auld is new goalie for Red Bulls

EC Red Bull Salzburg is delighted to announce something of a coup prior to the start of ice training, having lured NHL ace Alex Auld to Salzburg. His recruitment means that the Red Bulls are now in excellent shape in terms of the position of goalie.

The 31-year-old Canadian already has a long and successful career under his belt, having played in goal for teams such as the Vancouver Canucks, Montréal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers in the NHL. Last season Auld played for the Ottawa Senators and his presence will strengthen the Red Bulls' line-up in plenty of time for the first warm-up game against KHL club Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
Salzburg's head coach Pierre Pagé holds his new goalie in very high regard: "Alex Auld is a highly talented goalie and a strong character. He believes in the Red Bull Hockey Model and that his stint in Salzburg will help him to take another step in the right direction."
