The paragliding duo Thomas de Dorlodot and Horacio Llorens had a dream. To cross the African continent in search of perfect launching spots. Here are some of the best photos from their holiday album.

 

The famed photographer and paragliding pioneeer de Dorlodot and his equally talented partner Llorens embarked on a four-month journey as part of Project Search Africa, crossing the deserts, mountains and beautiful landscapes of 11 different countries from Egypt to South Africa, using their transport of choice to discover Africa in a way that nobody has ever done before.

After months of preparation, they left Europe in mid-December 2011 and packed all their gear into two 4x4 vehicles. And, just to be sure they didn’t get lost in the wilderness, they met up with famed multiple Dakar Rally winner Carlos Sainz for some pointers.

The challenge took four months in total as they explored Africa’s cultures and landscapes from land and the sky with the mission to document their adventure...
