The daredevil has revealed plans for a sensational New Year’s Eve stunt, driving a rally car off the end of a pier in Long Beach, California, jumping it further than a rally car has ever flown before and landing it on the deck of a barge.
Red Bull’s previous New Year’s celebrations – New Year, No Limits – have seen Robbie Maddison soaring to new heights on his motorbike, jumping up on to the Arc de Triomphe replica in Las Vegas and leaping an American football field, and Rhys Millen attempting the first truck backflip.
"I’m looking forward to being part of Red Bull: New Year. No Limits.," said Pastrana. "Long Beach will continue the tradition of a fun and festive environment for this New Year’s celebration and flying over the water in a car and landing it onto a floating barge will push the limits of anything that I have ever executed in my career.
“Live events are always difficult and more entertaining, both for the fans and the participants, and so many factors play into the success of this jump. I live for this kind of excitement."
