Marc Márquez has had a busy time recently, winning the last five MotoGP 125cc series races for the Ajo Derbi team. As he tells us in his latest blog, the Repsol rider is taking a well-earned – if short – holiday break…

Hello!

We're on holiday… We get to enjoy a few days’ rest, and it's great to arrive after getting another win. What is important is that we take an advantage of 26 points at the top of the standings into the summer break, so we’ll be able to approach the coming races as calmly as possible.

It has been a difficult weekend which, in the end, has gone better than expected, because our rivals have not been able to add to their own points tallies. Personally, I prefer to fight with my rivals for victories on the track right until the end. I hope Nico [Terol] will recover [from his crash] as soon as possible and return so we can fight hand-to-hand, and I also hope that Pol [Esparagaró] was not hurt in his fall on Sunday.

We decided to go with dry tyres in the race, even though the track was a still little wet. Our opponents made the same choice, so we were on equal terms. At the end of the race, the track was almost dry – but not quite. I felt that to push hard to get away was perhaps too risky, and it was clear that victory was going to depend on Pol gambling with the grip. Then came the fall – I had already decided my strategy, but unfortunately for Pol, he crashed.

Now, as I said, we have a few days to rest – well, it can’t hurt! Then comes an immediate return to the gym with my trainer and my brother [Alex, CEV rider]. I'll be on a Supermoto bike as well, which I like very much, and hope to have a few days to practise a bit of Supermoto.

Thank you very much to my fans for always being there and encouraging me!

Marc
