B-Boy Slav moved his feet to the beat to win the Red Bull BC One Eastern European Qualifier. The 24-year-old Bulgarian B-Boy blew away the competition to book his place at the Red Bull BC One final in Brazil.

The B-boy battles at the Old Gas Station in St Petersburg were all fiercely contested with only one place in the Rio de Janeiro final up for grabs. Joining B-Boy Slav in the battle there were also the best of the best from all over Eastern Europe.

The 16 B-Boys who descended on St Petersburg had proved their ability by winning BC One Cyphers in their own countries. Now it was time for these chosen few to take to the floor in Russia to find out who would be the last man standing.

B-Boy Slav had to face B-Boy InTact from Kiev’s Ruffneck Attack Crew in the first round of the qualifier. Things didn’t get any easier for Slav with a quarter-final against Greece’s B-Boy Zoob.

After wiping the floor with InTact and Zoob there was only a battle against local favourite B-Boy Jamal standing between Slav and the Eastern European final. Slav held his nerve to silence the home crowd and beat Jamal before discovering he would face yet another Russian B-Boy in the final.

With only one ticket to the Red Bull BC One Final in Brazil guarenteed it was clear that B-Boys Slav and Alkolil would have to put everything into their performance.

The dancefloor at a B-Boy 1-on-1 battle can sometimes turn into a lonely place with everyone in the room expecting you to produce the goods. Luckily for B-Boys Slav and Alkolil they were helped along by DJ Smirnoff spinning the tunes as well as Mario BEE and MC Quicksan busting the mic.

The judges that watched every step the two finalist took were Niek (aka Just do it), Ronnie, and LiL G. After both B-Boys had done all they could to impress it was the decision of the three judges to hand the win to B-Boy Slav.

B-Boy Slav will now prepare for his trip to Brazil where he will face the winners of five other Red Bull BC One Qualifier finals. Slav will join the winners of battles in Chicago, Monterrey, Auckland, Casablanca and Rotterdam later this year in Rio de Janeiro.
