Red Bull Big Tune, created by DJ/producer/MC Vitamin D and music manager/programme director Jonathan Moore in 2004, is the USA’s premier head-to-head producer battle, established to showcase the musical talents of emerging, and established, music producers. And you could be one of them!

THE FORMAT
Two producers share the stage, and each mix their own tune at their individual stations. There are no celebrity judges and no gimmicks. Red Bull Big Tune is inspired by Jamaican sound clashes where the audience decides who has the Big Tune and who goes home. But it's both the winner and the lucky runner-up from each qualifying battle who will be flown to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Red Bull Big Tune national finals this year.
The Red Bull Big Tune national champion will be given an opportunity to collaborate with an A-list recording artist at Red Bull Studios, located at Red Bull's North American headquarters in Santa Monica, California.
THE RULES
Anyone with a passion for music and the beats to back it up can apply online at http://www.redbullbigtune.com for the remaining Houston, Minneapolis and Detroit qualifying battles. (The deadline for the next open application – Houston – is September 9.) Twelve producers will be selected and notified via email of their status one week prior to the event. Each producer must bring sample-free, wholly original music to the competition, for which they won the copyright! Each producer should also expect to be filmed at the regional and national battles.
