Get ready for some seriously cool runnings as the intense action of Red Bull Crashed Ice hits homes on Xbox 360 Kinect…
If careering down a slippery racetrack as you jostle for position while your rivals (and gravity) vie to bring you to your knees sounds like your idea of fun, then you’re going to love Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect.
Ahead of the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle, Red Bull Media House have unveiled details of a hugely exciting co-project with Microsoft Studios, a fully interactive game based on the fast-growing sport of ice cross downhill.
Due for a Winter 2012/2013 release and available to play for the first time at PAX this week, Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect allows two players to partake in the intense winter sports party game via splitscreen or up to eight players in party mode.
Markedly safer and a heck of a lot warmer than the real thing, Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect will nevertheless throw you headlong into incredible speeds and hairpin turns as your skate to the finish using your body and your wits to get you across the line first.
The game, which features five downhill tracks based on real Crashed Ice event locations, will be made available through Xbox LIVE to play on Microsoft’s hugely popular motion-controlled gaming system and, according to Austrian developer Bongfish, the game will combine “the nature of this unique sport with the power of Kinect, resulting in an outstanding experience that will evolve digital sports to the next level.”
Set to be a fast, fun and frantic way to live the Red Bull Crashed Ice experience for (almost real), this will be one of the hottest games of the season – and you won’t even have to be a a super-tough ice-hockey players to take part.
Remember, first to the bottom wins. How you do that is up to you.
