Spa-Francorchamps, Four Red Bulls are in the Belgian Ardennes this weekend: Albon, Kvyat, Wackerbauer and Williamson for the the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Races 3 and 4, and Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Races 4 and 5.
Two litre Championship leader Daniil Kvyat (RUS-Koiranen) wants to return to victory lane and the two rookies Stefan Wackerbauer (GER-Koiranen) and Alex Albon (THA-Epic) are looking to claim their rightful places following strong races at Imola in the Alps series. In the 3.5 Series Lewis Williamson (SCO-Arden) wants to score points for the first time this season.
Daniil Kvyat (RUS) already has an all-out zest for action again following his disappointing retirement in Imola through no fault of his own. The young Russian is leading this series after the opening race weekend in Aragon and now wants to extend this lead at his favourite track in the Ardennes. For the two rookies in the Red Bull Junior Team, who will be competing “at one of the last great challenges in motor racing” for the first time, the excited anticipation is just as intense.
Both Albon and Wackerbauer seem to finally have arrived in Formula Renault after their recent results. Wackerbauer climbed onto the podium for the first time in Imola, and Albon has finished in the top ten three times in a row.
For Williamson though things have not gone according to plan or as desired so far this year. He is the only Red Bull without a sense of achievement and points in 2012 yet with disappointment both in Aragon and last time out in Monaco.
