Red Bull Junior Team: Renault 2.0 Nurburgring Preview - Kvyat on form

Daniil Kvyat deep in thought Red Bull

It is a short trip of just 100km for the Red Bull Juniors of Formula Renault 2.0 from Spa where they competed in the Alps series last weekend to the Nürburgring for this weekend's Eurocup Formula Renault event, Races 5 and 6 of the season, June 30th and July 1st.

Championship leader Daniil Kvyat (RUS-Koiranen) wants to keep his impressive streak after three wins in four races. The two rookies Stefan Wackerbauer (GER-Koiranen) and Alex Albon (THA-Epic) continue their points chase.

Kvyat has the momentum as winner of the previous Eurocup race in Spa at the end of May, he was also in great form last weekend in the Alps series with a stunning victory in Race 1 at Spa but out of luck in Race 2 thanks to a 1st lap collision that left him with car damage.

Both Wackerbauer and Albon also showed at Spa that  they are getting to grips with the 2 litre Renaults and can reasonably hope to be in the points in Germany. Wackerbauer scored his first 2 Eurocup points last time out in Spa while Albon is still waiting for his maiden points in the Eurocup but has already proven his talent in the Alps Series with a 6th place in Imola and an 8th in Spa-Francorchamps.
