Finland held Red Bull Manny Mania for the first time and on the 16th of June 2012 Jeremias Delgado won the final competition in Helsinki. Riders came via four qualifications from all over country; Oulu, Jyväskylä, Tampere and Helsinki.
The final location was a public square and well-known skatespot, kamppi, in the middle of Helsinki. Competition was tough and finalists were really motivated to win the title and get a ticket to Red Bull Manny Mania finals in New York. The jury had a hard time figuring out the winner, hence the tricks were really creative and variety was impressive.
Finland had 3 “wild cards” for the finals and the winner, Jeremias Delgado, entered with one. Delgado had a huge variety of manny tricks and he is well-known in the Finnish skateboarding scene for his manual skills and creative combo tricks. The second place in the competition went to Kasperi Kropsu, who qualified from Oulu. Samu Salonen took third place after getting through the tough Tampere qualifiers.
"I have seen many videos from other countries of the Red Bull Manny Mania and the concept is amazing. I like to do manuals and it is the way I see riding my skateboard. I am really looking forward going to New York City! The event is going to be an incredibly wonderful for sure " said Jeremias after the final.
After the finals Jaakko Ojanen from the jury said that Jeremias has a great chance to succeed in NYC finals if he is having one his good days and his “manny mode” is on.
Best trick of the day was manual up and down to fakie 360-flip out to the rooftop mannypad by Lauri Ojanen who also showed some real talent.
