Red Bull Manny Mania is searching the globe for the most skilled technicians on skateboards. Any amateur can sign up to participate in the international skate events, taking place in 25 countries across six continents.
National qualifiers will see neighbourhood skaters compete for a ticket to prove their technical skills at the Red Bull Manny Mania World Final in the city that never sleeps – New York – in front of a judging panel of renowned skaters and industry experts. At stake is one spot in the Red Bull Manny Mania Pro event, skating against the manual masters.
For the last three years, thousands of participants have all put their wheels to the ground in Manny Mania events across the US and UK. This year, the event is taken to a global scale, from America to Europe to Africa to the Middle East, skateboarders attempting to balance on two wheels and hope their technical trickery will earn them a coveted spot in the August 21 World Final's contest in NYC.
Boasting some of the best professional skateboarders in both the contest and video scene, the Red Bull Manny Mania Pro event has become part of the legendary Skateboard Weekend in New York and has brought such greats to the city as Eric Koston and Chad Muska, manual experts like Joey Brezinski and Brandon Biebel and hot newcomers like last year’s USA winner Eli Reed and second-place finisher Mike Mo Capaldi.
The event is all based off the manual skate trick – where Red Bull Manny Mania got its name from - a balancing act that is a must-do in any new skateboarder’s skill set and yet can be made extremely difficult with limitless combinations. Who will join the best this year?
