Reliving Desafio no Morro

Ever fancied a spot of downhill mountain biking through the tight stairways, pavements, and narrow tracks of Rio de Janeiro's favelas? Yes? Well, you're in luck because you can experience what it's like to do just that in one of the highlights of 2009 – Desafio no Morro.

The Atherton brothers, Gee and Dan, along with the other top mountain biking downhill stars, took the challenge on with, it must be said, varying degrees of success. However, 'the world's gnarliest street race' is not for the faint-hearted, as you will see, and Slovakia's Filip Polc deserves the utmost respect for coming out on top at the end of one of the most original and exciting events of 2009.

Check out the video as it puts you in the rider's seat for Red Bull Desafio no Morro 2009.
