Germany's Ken Roczen on his Suzuki RM-Z250 claimed his fourth pole position of the season in qualifying at the FIM Motocross MX2 Grand Prix in Lommel, Belgium.

Roczen was followed home by fellow Red Bull riders, Jeffrey Herlings, Shaun Simpson and Marvin Musquin in second, third and fourth places respectively ahead of Sunday's races at the Limburg track.

The Grand Prix of Limburg is the first FIM World Championship GP following a four week break and Roczen looked fresh and eager to perform in the cloudy but stuffy conditions, performing superbly from the opening phases of the day.

The German was over a second quicker than Dutchman Herlings in pre-qualification and then passed World Champion Musquin and before escaping to victory in the 20 minute qualification heat and Roczen is aiming to enjoy the final five races of the season.

"I'm pleased with my fourth pole position and it is a positive thing for tomorrow even if the slot on the gate is not so important here," Roczen said.

"The layout is fast but with each session - and the bumps getting bigger - the speed becomes slower and slower. I had a good start in the heat race and I felt fast already in pre-qualifying. I am not thinking about the championship any more. I want to enjoy the last couple of races and see how it ends."
