Red Bull KTM rider Ryan Dungey claimed his third victory of the season at the Salt Lake City Supercross, while team-mate Marvin Musquin finished fifth to move up to third in the West Coast Lites Standings.

It was a triumphant day for Dungey and the team in what was only his second ride since a five-race layoff with a shoulder injury.

Dungey got off to a great start in the main event and was third at the end of lap one before closing in on Jake Weimer in second place. He crashed at the halfway mark after making contact with the other rider but quickly recovered without losing a position.

Fired up, he then made the pass on Weimer and moved into second place. Dungey made the pass on leader Davi Millsaps with just two laps to go to claim his third victory of the season and the third for the KTM brand in Supercross racing.

'It's an even greater accomplishment taking this win after recovering from my collarbone injury'

“It feels great to take another win tonight,” said Dungey. “It is an even greater accomplishment to take this win after recovering from my collarbone injury. It solidifies that we made the right choice to come back to racing and finish out the Supercross Series before heading to outdoors. I just really want to thank my team tonight. They did a great job getting my bike ready and I couldn’t have won without them.”

In the Lites West Class, Marvin Musquin pulled off a great start on his KTM 250 SX in the main event and was in second place at the end of the first lap. A small mistake on lap two allowed Dean Wilson to pass him for third and a few laps later he dropped to sixth where he sat for almost half the race before reclaiming fifth place. He then maintained his pace and to finish fifth and move up to third in the overall point standings.

Dungey and Musquin will now head to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the final round of the series on May 5 at Sam Boyd Stadium.
