Air-&-Style-Beijing-2011 Air & Style Beijing 2011

Perfect riding conditions and stellar first round duels have got the action off to a great start at Air & Style Beijing 2011, and you can catch it all live this weekend with the RedBull.com webcast...

The Chinese name for Air & Style literally translates as Boiling Snow and that's exactly what's been happening as the event really starts to heat up.

The 20,000-strong crowd at Beijing's Bird´s Nest stadium witnessed some great action during Thursday’s and Friday’s practice sessions. The draw for first-round pairs kicked it off by setting up challenging battles for the Air & Style title and the legendary Ring of Glory - not to mention the valuable 1,000 TTR points and incalculable reputation boost.

With Roope Tonteri currently leading both the TTR Big Air Tour and Overall Tour Rankings due to his two Big Air results earlier this season, the battle for the lead is going to be exciting this weekend. Both Eric Willett and Sebastian Toutant have a good chance of moving to the number one position in the Big Air ranking, while Belgian big air powerhouse Seppe Smits will be hoping to improve upon his second place at the 2010 Air & Style Beijing.

"The ramp is even better than last year," said 2010 winner Sebastien Toutant. "The pop is just perfect and the snow is how it should be. All in all we have best conditions for a great contest.”

Also hoping to make a big splash will be X-Games Big Air gold medallist Torstein Horgmo who is making his return to competition after two years away.  Also on the bill will be Billabong Air & Style winner Marko Grilc, Americans Eric Willett and Sage Kotsenburg, and rising British star Jamie Nicholls, who comes fresh from his victory at the Burton Rail Day in Tokyo, Japan.

Watch the Air and Style in Beijing live on RedBull.tv, Saturday, December 3, 12:30 PM CET.
