News that one of Asia’s biggest snowboarding events is set to return has been given the thumbs up by stars of the sport.

The Eighth Red Bull Nanshan Open – a 4Star TTR World Snowboard Tour Slopestyle event – is set to go ahead at the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park in Beijing, China, in January.

The competition is the only TTR event held in China and sees 18 invited international riders compete with six locally qualified riders.

"One of my top events - always so stoked to get an invite and would never say no. It is just an awesome time, said Peter Konig, who has taken part for the last two years. “You get together with all your buddies from around the world and the snowboard industry, meet in China and have the best seven days that will be in your memories forever."

"As soon as I got the chance to come I didn't even have to think about it – such a nice trip,” said Filippo Kratter. “You don't get the chance to go to China everyday!"

The reason it’s so popular? Well, it can’t have anything to do with the fact the invited athletes get to compete on a world-class snowpark and enjoy a full week's worth of 5-star hotels, foot massages, fine dining and sightseeing – oh, and lots of parties.
