It was France v the USA in the battle to see who would be the King of Bercy as Supercross came roaring into Paris at the weekend.

A strong contingent of US riders were led from the front by Supercross superstar James Stewart – fresh from wrapping up the US Open in Las Vegas. "It's always great to come to Bercy, the crowd is awesome and they treat me so well over here,” he said.

Having also dominated last year’s event, the AMA and FIM World Supercross champion picked up where he left off by claiming victory in Friday and Saturday’s races and two outings on Sunday.

But the Yamaha rider withdrew from Sunday’s final event, the sprint, complaining of sickness and dizzy spells. Instead, his compatriot Justin Brayton finished fifth, scoring enough points to snatch the ‘King of Bercy’ title at the last.

And to the delight of the home fans, there was a local hero to cheer on the final day. Overall winner on Sunday was the new MX2 world champion Marvin Musquin.

The Frenchman proved to be competitive despite being more used to racing outside and being the only entrant on a 250cc machine. His overall win on Sunday also cemented fourth place for Musquin in the overall standings.
