The ultimate challenge a human being can face in high-speed adrenaline sport: the BASE Race 2009. This head-to-head flying challenge will see wingsuit BASE jumpers compete over a 750m horizontal racing line. Those who perfect the art of human flight will aim to become 'the world's fastest flying human being'.
Using no more than gravity and a bodysuit to achieve the perfect aerodynamic shape, competitors will take flight from Norway's Innfjorden on Thursday, racing in heats through to the final day on Saturday.
