On Saturday more than 40,000 Neapolitans witnessed an afternoon’s high-class, high speed motorsport entertainment as our Running Showcar spectacular landed in Italy.
Mark Webber and Sébastien Buemi were the Red Bull F1 drivers who reached speeds of 256kph along the 1.2km strip from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Vittori
The afternoon was opened by Chris Pfeiffer, the German four-time world stunt champion who warmed up the crowds with his incredible, gravity-defyig motorcycle stunts.
Mark and Séb then took turns to run the F1 car and the Red Bull Racing Nascar along the strip which runs in the shadow of Vesuvius and under the majestic Castel Ovo.
Séb also took Alexander Pittin, who won an Olympic bronze medal in Nordic combined this year in Vancouver, for a white-knuckle ride in the Nascar racer.
The next time the boys will get into an F1 car it’ll be for first practice at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on May 7.
