Vettel guns for second

Sebastian Vettel is determined to round off Red Bull's "outstanding" campaign by claiming the runners-up spot behind newly crowned world champion Jenson Button in the Formula 1 drivers’ standings.

Vettel goes into the final race of the 2009 season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, just two points adrift of Button’s Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barrichello. The 22-year-old is assured a top-three finish after a phenomenal year which has seen him claim three race victories.

And he is looking to overturn Barrichello’s advantage in F1’s inaugural day/night race at the newly built Yas Marina circuit.

Vettel said: “First place has gone now but we will attack intensively to make sure we come second. It was still a great season for the team, they were outstanding this year."

After five wins this season, Red Bull Racing can't be caught in second place in the Constructors' Championship behind Brawn GP.
