Webber Visits Dakar Winner Nani

Nani Roma

Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber took time off from testing today to visit the home – and track – of Dakar motorcyclist Nani Roma.

Roma won the Dakar riding a motorcycle in 2004 and since then has entered on four wheels.

He has a track at his home just outside Barcelona which Mark went to while Sebastian Vettel was testing the RB6 at the Circuit De Catalunya.

Mark said: “I’ve had a really great day hanging out at Nani’s house. He’s an amazing guy – a super nice bloke. The way he is is so typical of the Red Bull family, everyone has lots to offer and are always make you feel welcome.

“We had a play on a couple of little toys at his house, which was great. I stayed away from the bikes, but went in a little rally cross buggy that had plenty of horse power, which was fun. Nani’s got a 2km track at his home that we had a run around on.

“We also talked about all his experiences on the Paris Dakar, it’s amazing talking to him, he’s been through a lot. An awesome day so thanks a lot to Nani for being so hospitable.”
