The Canadian phenomenon continues to make a huge impression at the Winter X Games 16 in Aspen as he grabs his second gold of the competition…
Mark McMorris is currently standing two for two at this year’s Winter X Games. After winning Snowboard Big Air gold on Friday, he beat out his competitors for the gold in Men's Snowboard Slopestyle on Saturday.
McMorris took the lead early on after securing Run 1 and Run 2 scores of 90.00 and 93.33 respectively after sticking a frontside 180 onto a cargo container, Cab 270 into wallride, and frontside bluntslide to 450 out in the technical rail section, then making his way into the four-hit jump line with a Cab double cork 900, a frontside double cork 1080, a double "wildcat" backflip, and a backside 1260.
'Everything kind of worked out and I got to cruise my last run.'
"The second run was the run I'd planned," said McMorris. "Everything kind of worked out and I got to cruise my last run. That's what I find most fun in snowboarding, is having fun.
"It was a deep field this year. We had 16 of the best snowboarders in the world here this week and obviously everybody was going for a technical run out there. "
