The first ever Romanian edition of Red Bull Art Of Can is taking place in Bucharest until October 23. Here is a selection of photos from the opening day...
Red Bull Art Of Can challenges talented artists to create something new and innovative from empty Red Bull cans, and 54 such brilliant examples are currently on show at the George Enescu Square in Bucharest.

The pieces were produced by Romanian and Moldovan artists and were chosen for the exhibition by a jury. The exhibition itself is being held in a stylish mobile gallery built out of two trucks.

First place in the competition was won by Michael Turcanu for his Time Warp (above) and his prize is a trip to New York City for two people and the chance to join in a workshop at the famous Guggenheim Museum.
Second place went to George Catalin's Catch Me If You Can (see above), who won a trip to Venice for three days for two people to check out the International Exhibition of Art at La Biennale di Venezia.
Third place was awarded to Andrei Toader (known in the art world as Argaetic) for his self portrait mosaic (above). He won a trip for two people for three days in Bilbao, including entrance to the Basque city's museums.

The art of creating masterpieces out of Red Bull packaging started out in 1999, when the first exhibitions were held throughout the world. Countries such as Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore and America have all produced artists who have been inspired to create their own works of art made of aluminium.
