There’s been a blue moon rising over the truck race at the Dakar Rally for more than a decade. The rushing Russians in their Kamaz Trucks have simply obliterated the competition. Last year’s truck race finished with a Kamaz one-two-three-four at the top of the leaderboard. Team Kamaz have also made history at the Dakar by winning 24 consecutive stages of the desert classic. Recently retired drivers Vladimir Chagin and Firdaus Kabirov won nine of the last 11 editions of the Dakar. Vladimir and Firdaus may have moved on but the machine remains the same.
