More good points and another MotoGP podium with second place for Dani Pedrosa at Indianapolis, with another challenging track to come at Misano – and fun to be had riding it.

Hola a todos,

Today I write very happily after the podium in Indianapolis, especially after a weekend that has been quite difficult. I heard that last Monday they had paved the circuit to solve the problem of potholes, but, no one having ridden on it since, the track was quite dirty and this caused much in the way of worn tyres.

This has been a problem for everyone during the weekend. I personally didn’t feel very comfortable riding on Saturday, and thus our rivals were gaining half a second per lap on us. But, again, the whole team worked to the maximum and Sunday brought much improved feeling during the warm-up.

'I leave the United States very pleased with the result after we’d suffered a lot during the weekend'

In the race I got a good start into the lead. At that moment, I knew how fast I could go, but was a little cautious knowing the others could too, especially Casey Stoner and Ben Spies, whom we had seen were the fastest. Casey went closer and closer until it finally happened. He wasn’t much faster than me, but just enough to pass me and get away. I took the tyre to the limit.

Ultimately, I leave the United States very pleased with the result after we’d suffered a lot during the weekend, especially after the fall at the previous race at the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic.

Not that there is much time to savour the podium in Indianapolis. Right now we have the sights set on Misano, where we will have another difficult race. The circuit is very twisty and slow, and if it's hot, it becomes very hard, so we'll see what the weekend brings… Moreover, this GP always has a great atmosphere, so both my team and I arrive eager to enjoy it and also fight for victory.

Un saludo,

Dani
