With barely a moment to catch his breath between last week’s Winter X Games in Aspen and the forthcoming Air & Style contest in Innsbruck on February 5, snowboarder Marko Grilc pauses just long enough to tell redbull.com who he’d invite to his dream dinner party.
Fit for a king…
There would have to be some hamburgers on the menu at Marko’s imaginary feast as he’d love to chew the fat with Elvis Presley. As well as getting some hip-thrusting tips, it would be a great excuse to hear the classics including Marko’s all-time favourite tune, ‘Jailhouse Rock’.
Inspirational icon…
Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong would take a seat next to Elvis – admittedly, he’d probably choose a healthier alternative from the menu – and he could share his experiences of not only winning cycling’s greatest title, but also his personal battle against cancer. “I’d have a million questions for him about how to be a better athlete,” says Marko.
I have a dream…
To balance the discussions, Marko would also invite legendary political activist and civil rights campaigner Martin Luther King Jr. A Nobel Peace Prize winner and outstanding humanitarian, the American icon would also have some motivational stories to share as the evening unfolded. “I believe he’d be pretty funny but very intelligent at the same time – like all the ‘big’ ones,” says Marko.

She’s an all-round action hero who can fly a plane, play supermum to an ever-growing brood of kids and work tirelessly as a UN Ambassador striving for world peace, but would Angelina Jolie be able to crack a few jokes at the table? Marko would be happy to find out if she accepted his invite to dinner! “She would be invited just because she’s Angelina,” he jokes. “I would invite the other guys so I could tell them how great she is!”
