32,000 visitors to freestyle.ch soaked up freestyle sports at their finest in Switzerland last weekend, with Elias Ambuhl, Halldor Helgason and 2011 Red Bull X-Fighters World Champion Dany Torres among the big winners.
Making its debut on European soil, the impressive mini-MegaRamp stole the show. Snowboarder Helgason (ISL), freeskier Ambühl (SUI), FMXer Torres (ESP), as well as skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon (CAN) thrilled freestyle crowds during a blockbuster weekend of action at Landiwiese Park in Zurich.
Swiss freeski talents Elias Ambühl and Kai Mahler pulled off quite a feat in the electrifying and technically impeccable Freeski Final, scoring themselves a one-two at freestyle.ch. After two second places in 2009 and 2010, the new freestyle.champ Elias Ambühl finally managed to step onto the very top of the podium by landing a Double Cork 1440°. "I’m totally overwhelmed. freestyle.ch is my favourite event of the year and winning in front of a home crowd is simply mind-blowing," says Ambühl.

High-level action dominated the Snowboard Finals. Style icon Halldor Helgason landed a Frontside Double Cork 1080°, an especially hard trick to stomp as the jump has to be landed backwards. Seppe Smits (BEL) and Ståle Sandbech (NOR) completed the podium of the snowboarding contest.
Dany Torres, meanwhile, won the FMX contest. After placing second in the semi finals, Torres was the second to last rider to start in the final. He showed a perfectly-executed Backflip Double Seat Grab and got the highest score of the event. Tom Pagès (FRA) and Petr Pilat (CZE) finished second and third, respectively.
